The Gendered Effects of UN Peacebuilding

Project Summary

UN peace operations are increasingly focused not only on keeping the peace but on building the peacebuilding capacity of communities. Applying findings from an impact evaluation of US$ 44 million that the UN Peacebuilding Fund allocated to Burundi between 2007 and 2013, this project combines a large household-level survey with semi-structured interviews to explore the gender dynamics of UN peacebuilding efforts focused on community-level capacity building.
